PEEC invites to join the Energy Efficient Solutions Festival

The Carpathian eco-energy cluster invites you to join the Energy Efficiency Solutions Festival, which will be held on October 8 from 11.00-14.00 at the following address: City Hall, Market Square

The Energy Efficiency Solutions Festival will be held within the framework of the eco-forum Power Shift 2017 (October 6-8), which is already the 6th International Forum that brings together activists and NGO representatives to share the knowledge and experience needed to address climate change issues.
From October 6 to 8, activists from Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Indonesia will come to Ivano-Frankivsk, who are interested in:
● ecology, climate change and green energy;
● steady transport
● Urbanism and architecture;
● Sociology and Environmental Education
● Innovative solutions for sustainable development and community development.

The main purpose of the Energy Efficient Solutions Festival is to draw the attention of the urban residents to the problem of climate change and to show how energy efficient technologies available on the territory of Ivano-Frankivsk work.

The general concept of the event consists of 4 parts:

● Presentation of energy-efficient solutions from members of Precarpathian Eco-Energy Cluster (ECO Energy Center, Energy of the Sun, STEM, LBiotech, Volt, Research Laboratory of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, PASSIVEHOUSE Atelier and others).
● Interacting with city residents through an information quest from cluster members.
● Development of a questionnaire by participants of the Power Shift Forum together with experts from the CEDOS Research Center and a survey of the inhabitants of the city. The forum’s 65+ people interact with the local community through a questionnaire on “Awareness of the inhabitants about the problem and manifestations of climate change in Ivano-Frankivsk”, the survey results will be analyzed and reflected in the video work.
● Filming a video about the festival and flashmob in social networks with the distribution of a video that reveals the problems of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk caused by climate change and solutions to the problem.

Cities should have more clean air, green areas, cycle tracks, heat protection islands, clean energy sources and public spaces for learning and development. “Time to move from words to actions,” as our joint action with local initiatives has proven the Day of Action, which took place in 15 cities of the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia region in June this year. Many wonderful people from the region will share the experience of self-organization and cooperation with local authorities, in order to work together on developing and adopting sustainable solutions. Within 3 days participants will learn and share best practices from Ukraine and the world, among them: Yuriy Filuk, co-founder and head of the “Teplie Misto” platform, entrepreneur, co-owner of the company “23 restaurants”; Oleksandra Sladkova, Head of Administration, Construction and Infrastructure Development Department of Lviv City Council, Natalia Holovata, Head of Investment, Energy Saving and Municipal Development Department, Dolina; Maxim Terletsky, Project Manager, Institute of Urban Development, Lviv; Sergiy Adamovich, coordinator of NGO Progressive Group of Frankivsk, and deputy of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council Tatiana Shuro, media coordinator of the CAN (Climate Action Network) in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia; Marianne Koch, coordinator of international training 350.org; Devin Maeztri, expert on the international movement 350.org and others.
