PEEC and EU-Ukraine Cluster Policy Learning and Matchmaking Event 2018

On March 26-28 in the context of the High Level Industrial Dialogue between the EU and Ukraine the international cluster meeting EU-Ukraine Cluster Policy Learning and Matchmaking Event 2018 took a place in Kyiv. The event organizers were Directorate General Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), European commission and PWC – international consulting company in cooperation with European Cluster Collaboration Platform.

On the meeting Precarpathian eco-energy cluster represented by Managing director Lyudmyla Shyko has a speech “International cooperation: barriers and benefits” in a context of common project with Hungarian gold label ArchEnerg Innovative International Cluster of Duilding Trade and Renewable energy, represented bu Ramón Vivanco Mugarra, under EaP Plus Cluster Grant scheme. And also obtained a great opportunity to speack with potential partners from european clusters working in energy field: Oy Merinova Ab – EnergyVaasa cluster (Vaasa, Finland), Baltic Eco-Energy Cluster (Gdansk, Poland), “Inteligentna Energija” cluster RES (Zagreb, Croatia), Green Energy Innovative Biomass Cluster (Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania), and to discuss a common strategy for clustering with other Ukrainian clusters: Kharkiv ІТ cluster, Volyn energy cluster “Innovation energy”, Kharkiv AgroFood cluster, Chernivtsi ІТ cluster “Cluster Bit” ect.

The Matchmaking Event organizators have invited Elżbieta Bieńkowska, European Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs; Slawormir Tokarski, the Director of Innovation and Advanced Manufacturing from DG GROW, European Commission; Christophe Guichard, Teamlead of DG GROW; Peter Keller, International and Cluster Unit, Ministry for National Economy of Hungary; Katarzyna Kuza, Innovation Department, Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology of Poland; Nicolas Perrin, from the Embassy of France in Ukraine; Stepan Kubiv, Ukrainian First Vice Prime Minister;  Oleksandr Chernykh, the Head of Industrial Policy Department, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and  over 70 representatives of 50 cluster organisations from Ukraine and other 12 COSME countries (Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Spain, Ireland, Poland and Hungary) for cross-sectorial meetings in the field of Information Technology, Agro/Food, Eco-energy and Building and Construction, Transport and Logistics, and Textile.

During the event over 90 successful meetings were held where practical principles for successful implementation of cross-border and intersectoral cooperation were discussed.
