PEEC is pleased to announce the project results of our partner – ArchEnerg cluster, which together with SCOBE consortia work on Courses about Wind Energetics Technology!
The SCOBE project is a Windpower Training Initiative coordinated by Vea Qualitas of Zaragosa, Spain working in partnership with Accentuate- North-East [UK], AcrossLimits Ltd [Malta], ArchEnerg [Hungary], GMI Aero [France] and MAICH [Greece]. This programme has the acronym SCOBE [Systematizing Collaboration amongst Business and Educational institutions] and is funded for two years under the Erasmus Plus – Strategic Partnerships vocational education/training programme.
After a few months of intensive work the Windpower training programme is now complete. Two courses are being developed by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania [Greece] in collaboration with GMI Aero [France] and Accentuate – North East [UK].
The first course is called an Introduction to Wind Energy. It is a tеster course aimed at people with no previous knowledge of renewable energies. The students will learn about wind electricity generation; on-shore and off-shore wind turbines; the environmental impact of wind farms and much more.
The second course is called Rotor Blade Inspection and Repair Techniques. This course is aimed at people who already have a background in renewable energy and who are currently employed in the sector. The curriculum will include information on the construction of rotor blades, types of fibre/composite materials used and damage analysis. Health and Safety procedures will be identified. By the end of this course the students will understand how rotor blades operate and will be able to document, assess, and repair damage.
Each course will be of thirty hours duration. Both courses will be redesigned by AcrossLimits Ltd [Malta] as e-learning programmes. This on-line learning approach should provide an enjoyable mix of videos and quizzes to motivate the learners.
If you are interested in taking one of these courses, more details are available on the learning platform at www.scobeproject.eu.
