On June 12-13, 2023, on the initiative of the head of PEEC – Lyudmyla Shyyko, a working trip of representatives of the communities of Ivano-Frankivsk region to the city of Sokolów Podliaski, located in Poland, took place.
The trip was carried out with the aim of getting acquainted with the experience of transformation that took place in the Polish community within the framework of the Green Deal. Over the course of 2 days, the participants showed great interest in projects of this type, especially the opportunity to transfer and implement the presented approach in energy transformation in the Carpathians.
Over the course of 2 days, the members of the delegation got acquainted with the project for the construction of the TPP of the future with 95% RES, treatment facilities that allow not only to purify water to the accepted EU standards, but also to use the residues – sludge for the generation of biogas and mineral fertilizers for the own consumption of the utility company “PUIK” (Przedsiębiorstwo usług inżynieryjno-komunalnych). Also water enrichment stations for residents and technical, photovoltaic SES, and a biogas plant for the production of biogas for cogeneration.
The trip was extremely important for community leaders, as it provided knowledge about the stages of implementation of green technologies in the city’s energy supply, the importance of a strategic vision of development for several decades ahead. The greatest interest is not only environmental, but also energy, financial efficiency, the use of renewable energy sources (RES) to generate not only electricity, but also heat for the residents of the town (19 thousand population).
